Mission Statement
“Whatever you have done for the least of these… you have done for me.” (Mt 25:40). These words of Our Lord call us to a Christian mission of Charity, especially with regard to the closest communities to us. There are hundreds of service opportunities in Washington DC and at CUA. We want to publicize, fund, and support these initiatives to offer corporal and spiritual works of mercy to as many people as possible.
Through collaboration with service organizations both on and off campus, Forge is committed to creating a single hub for students to find a service organization that fits their skill set. Whether it’s in the city, across the country, or right here on campus, we want to make sure that you have the ability to help those in need if you desire it.
We want to continue the long tradition of performing homeless coffee and food runs, as an attempt to connect on a human and spiritual level with those at the margins of our society. Furthermore, we want to fully utilize the Community Engagement Executive Initiative in order to create and maintain lasting service opportunities right here in the Brookland area- an effort inspired by a drive to do simple, humble work right where we are for those who need it most.
