Faith

Our 3 Main Ideas:
Collaborative events with SGA and Campus Ministry
Promote Faith in the school’s advertising, both on campus and online
Support greater access to the Sacraments and more information about the faith to all students
Mission Statement
Since its founding, Catholic University has had as its mission to produce men and women of high integrity who will serve their nation and their God. This cannot be done without a robust and enthusiastic embrace of the Church and all of her teachings.
How this manifests on campus is various: first and foremost, the Church is universal. This means that we are called to embrace in charity people of all faiths, and to make sure that everyone feels welcome and respected on campus, without compromising our values or matters of Church teaching. Still, representing the school in advertising and published works as a distinctly faith-based, Catholic institution is critical for growth into the future and for an authentic presentation of what we do best.
Furthermore, service has been a key element of the mission of our Faith since its conception. “Whatever you have done for the least of these… you have done for me.” (Mt 25:40). A critical role of student government is to be a steward of the campus culture. As a foundationally Catholic school, we are all called in a mission of service and Charity, especially to the most vulnerable members of our community. This means that we are dedicated to creative collaborative initiatives with Campus Ministry for service and for apostolate both on and off campus.
Lastly, we want to work to ensure everyone is given proper access to the sacraments if they are willing and able to receive them. This means publishing information about times and locations, as well as working in conjunction with Campus Ministry to serve their needs as they embark on a mission to bring the light of Christ into the world.
